ROCKSTAR DIDN'T LICENSE A HIT FOR THE GTA 6 LAUNCH TRAILER. THEY HAD ONE MADE.
"Flower in a Hurricane." Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It debuted inside the trailer and was on streaming the same morning.
The trailer hit 16.7M views and 319K likes on Rockstar's post within hours.
What I find more interesting than the song:
→ Justice aren't just on the soundtrack. They're scoring the whole game
→ the single is labeled "from GTAVI," so every stream points back to the game
→ it's already on GTAVI: The Album, a month before launch
→ Justice have history here. They were on the GTA IV soundtrack
Most trailers borrow a song people already love. Rockstar did the opposite: debut a brand new one inside a trailer millions will rewatch, and let the game be the reason it charts.
I've had it on loop since this morning. That's the whole plan working.
