NITI Aayog, through the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), has launched the first State Innovation Mission (SIM) in Tripura under AIM 2.0, marking an important milestone in strengthening state-led innovation ecosystems and advancing India’s innovation-driven development agenda.

Launched in Agartala in the presence of Shri Suman Bery, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura, and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State, the initiative reflects NITI Aayog’s continued commitment to enabling states to embed innovation and entrepreneurship into their long-term growth strategies.

Under this initiative, key interventions include institutionalising SIM under TIFT, inauguration of T-NEST as a dedicated incubation facility, launch of a District Innovator Fellowship to scale grassroots innovation, and support for transforming Agartala into an AI-enabled city. Through SIM, NITI Aayog will support Tripura in developing innovation strategies aligned with the State’s economic priorities, regional strengths, and future growth potential.

State Innovation Mission (SIM), anchored under AIM 2.0, serves as a long-term institutional mechanism to strengthen state innovation ecosystems through policy support, capacity building, partnerships, and context-driven interventions, advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat through innovation-led development.

Approval for the launch of PM RAHAT scheme, as per which victims of accidents will get cashless treatment of up to Rs. 1.5 lakhs. This will ensure that immediate medical help is provided to anyone affected.

Doubling of the target of the Lakhpati Didi scheme to 6 crore. This will boost women empowerment and self-reliance.

The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund target has been doubled from Rs. 1 lakh crore to Rs. 2 lakh crore. This will be immensely helpful to our farmers and help boost their incomes.

Approval for a Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of Rs. 10,000 crore. This will encourage startups in early stages and deep-tech research.

These decisions reaffirm the spirit of Nagrikdevo Bhava and add momentum to our vision of building a Viksit Bharat.
