38 Special’s 1987 compilation album Flashback: The Best of 38 Special was certified Platinum by the RIAA, signifying over one million units sold in the U.S. Flashback was a highly successful greatest-hits package that collected the band’s biggest Southern rock anthems from the late 1970s and 1980s, including “Hold On Loosely,” “Caught Up in You,” and “If I’d Been the One.”
