@Kilian_1997_@StormslayerDev Already responded to the same thing... of course shovelware has always been around, just as it does now (in greater numbers). But mainstream notable releases from major publishers, did not use to come out nearly as half baked as they do now on a regular basis.
@GhostofMahvel@StormslayerDev You're comparing apples to oranges. We're talking about notable mainstream releases, not shovelware. Which by the way, there's a ton more of today, even on consoles which are supposed to be somewhat curated.
@sydchsama@morgansam822@StormslayerDev Also conflating devs making some improvements before a second print with games having missing content or game breaking bugs, which was a very rare occurrence before. It's like a couple typos being fixed in a 2nd edition of a book vs the 1st edition having entire missing chapters.

AFTER two years of "bug fixes" from launch
Samsung 9100 Pro SSD (14.8 GB/s), 32GB DDR5 @ 6000 MT/s, Ryzen 9 9900X
@Hekseville_Hero@StormslayerDev Oh ok, I guess Japan got a little taste of what was to come early. Still, releasing straight up unfinished games has never been more normal than it is now. I remember when Day-1 patches were controversial. Now some games are being "fixed" two years after launch.
@scribblejunkie@BaptistClips Insults asside, to deny that Mary is the Mother of God is to deny that Jesus is God, which is quite literally the definition of blasphemy. I'm not Catholic, this is just something anybody of faith and basic logical abilities understands.

@BigGulpOBourbon@spumdonor Yeah I can also see machine learning tools being useful, but it would need to be built from the ground up for it's specific purpose. It can't just be a generic generative ai model with a bunch of system prompts telling it to "be tha best ink and painter evar!"
@BigGulpOBourbon@spumdonor Yeah, and even with most of the obvious errors having been fixed, it's still inherently poor at taking direction. It's so good at the most broad and general, that it's entirely useless for the specific.
@spumdonor I mean all this time, and at least to my knowledge, there's still not a program that can auto-color animation. I mean actually coloring, on a color layer, in a way which can be controlled, not just gen ai hallucinating the whole image from scratch "but with color".
@spumdonor I agree. There are even some people I like who keep saying ai will help indie creators do more... but nobody saying this has actually done anything with it. I try not to moralize it, but I still don't think it's useful.
