@JoshuaR35073488 @RAIL Having spent many years driving, teaching on 158's including the ones involved, any sort of collision a driver would prefer a modern train with stronger cabs, better brakes including enhanced emergency braking and override protection.
@JoshuaR35073488 @RAIL Firstly the report says nothing which you've stated about 158's crash worthyness as it involved a DB train and embankment giving way.
2nd gen DMU's don't comply to modern RIS for anything and are only operating on the network due to grandfather rights.
@20splentyforus@wrexhamcbc Wrexham council did not assess the implementation of the legislation, just blindly followed orders unlike other councils.
It now takes 30 mins to do a 12mile journey instead 20mins before the change.
Also how come there's been no policing of zones?
@20splentyforus@wrexhamcbc Total crap, lots of Wrexham 20mph zones are irrelevant and don't comply to the legislation.
Why have a 20mph zones at cross lanes on a road with no streetlights, 6 houses all stood back from road and a major arterial route from England.
@Electra88007 Mine of these tend to last only a matter of months, hence why I use a proper leather driver's bag so far still in good nick after 10 years with me plus it's previous owners use.
@WGTransport@KenSkatesMS How about actually running trains in the north. Total shambles, can't rely on the service since TfW took over. Constantly cancelling services.
@RAIL A non-story. Wxm-Bid is a notoriously slippy route.
You never published a story for all the other over runs over the years.
Most of us have slid through stations along this line.
@MarkMiddleton37@RMTunion They also play the algorithm's to be the top search.
For minimal outlay they can manipulate these.
Most businesses do this and the good ones get to the top of the page
@philatrail Drivers are not provided with devices. Same as nearly every other TOC.
Instead of trying to demonise unions, maybe get the facts.
Drivers are not allowed to have any electronic devices on while working. So how would that work?
Wait till you find out notices are still paper!
@AndyBurnhamGM@northernassist RDW agreement is only a short term fix. Relying totally on the good will of staff to volunteer to work the overtime.
This issue is a national problem due to privatisation and the TOC's being allowed by the DFT to not recruit enough staff to operate a basic service.
@philatrail You do realise that the TOC's don't allow the use of electronic devices in the driving cabs and at most it's a sackable offence being caught with a device on in the driving cab.
Nothing to do with unions but companies safety departments.
@NoJusticeMTG Being asked to contribute to a household when earning is life.
My daughter has been asked to contribute once she started full-time employment.
Why not, it teaches them responsibilities and that life isn't free.
