One of the things I find absolutely staggering about the way authorities have dealt with Luke Mitchell is the psychological assessment that has been used against him.
In Scotland, prisoners are psychologically assessed based on their conviction and the index offence. Luke is a perfect example of how problematic that becomes when the person being assessed has always maintained that he is innocent. This shouldn’t happen but it is happening.
Luke was assessed by a police-commissioned psychiatrist. The first assessment did not say he was a psychopath or a risk to women, so the police asked for it to be done again.
The second assessment was conducted against the backdrop of Luke being the person convicted of the index offence.
If you assess someone on the premise that they committed the offence, then use the circumstances of that offence and their conviction to assess their personality, you have already built the foundation of your conclusion into the assessment.
You are not simply assessing Luke. You are assessing the offender.
The very conviction Luke has disputed for 23 years is being used as part of the framework to characterise him as a psychopath.
And then there is the label that he presents a risk to women.
That is particularly bizarre when the authorities themselves have said this was not a sexual offence.
The real perpetrator of this offence is certainly a psychopath. Yet the prison-based psychologist (who has now strangely been relieved of her duties) along with every other psychologist who has assessed Luke over the last 23 years, has found Luke to present no risk. That’s right, no risk at all and certainly not a psychopath.
So how exactly do we get from years of psychological assessments finding no risk, and no psychopathy, to a police-commissioned assessment labelling him a psychopath and a risk to women?
The assessor even stated that he could not be held accountable for the reliability of the sources because nothing he had visibility of had been put to the courts.
And when an independent peer review of the assessment was legally pursued, Police Scotland blocked it.
So the police commissioned the assessment, the assessment was used to characterise Luke, and then the same authorities blocked an independent review of it.
No independent scrutiny. No opportunity for someone else to properly examine the assessment and its sources.
Just an assessment commissioned by the authorities, used against Luke, and then protected from independent scrutiny by those same authorities. They will do whatever it takes to protect themselves.
It stinks to high heaven.
The EU is looking to pass a law that will ban us Brits from buying houses in certain places abroad, including Spain.
So, in a nutshell, if you want to contribute and invest in a country, you're banned. If you want to freeload and drain the country dry, you're welcomed with open arms.
The agenda has never been so obvious.

"We will stop payments to Ukraine and all support for the war, and we will also make substantial repayment demands on Ukraine."
Exactly 👇. You have absolutely no clue @JohnSwinney@theSNP@StephenFlynnSNP what an economic disaster independence would be. @theSNP = incompetent & financially ignorant idiots.
