@kelticwai17 Congrats! Be deliberate with your service and don’t overcommit. Pick committees that link to your research/pedagogy/values. Befriend your admin assistants and junior faculty across depts for guidance. Don’t dwell on new teaching material. Save revisions for year 2 and beyond.

I worked a retail job on the boardwalk and spent my summer at the beach. I am now a tenure track professor at a SLAC so I don’t feel like taking that summer off prevented my progress.
