C’mon @UKLabour@Keir_Starmer@AngelaRayner@SteveReedMP please get a rock solid pledge in your manifesto that assures us that you would put a complete end to this unspeakable barbarity once and for all . If you want our votes we want a promise to protect our wildlife . Please RT
First decent quantity of honey bees spotted this weekend, always intrigued as to whether they're from a natural or human kept colony. #bees#buzz#insects
@CathHodsman The clarity of mind offered even from my small space, when the green begins to take over is truly magical. The diversity of life, and appreciation for seasons it instills is also absolutely amazing.
Male House crab spider, P. dispar, living up to its name, in my house. Saved from the shower. The iridescence of these guys is absolutely stunning.
@BritishSpiders
@Buzz_dont_tweet@BBCEarth Distinct lack of bugs so far (other than in the garden, which over the 2 years of letting it grow wild has been ramping up significantly). Slightly more positively though, found a buff tail nest yesterday, some cellophane bees and a bush of honey bees. Very few bees until then.
@BritishSpiders this is probably the most beautiful Misumena vatia I've now seen! She was very large too. Brilliant and pure white other than that mask, shoes, gloves and whatever anthropomorphism can be given to the chelicera tips. #spider#arachnids#nature
Got a new lens today, less of a bug lens, more of a do it all. Inevitably first thing I've shot is bugs though. Common damsel eating what was initially, maybe, a still squirming broadened plant hopper, until it's head was chewed off... Lens is Oly 30mm macro. #nature#wildlife
What a difference a day makes @WhiteHorseDC why has ALL of North Abingdon (not seen the south) been mown? As if the seeming blanket approval of planning for developers wasn't enough. Absolutely heart breaking, absolutely unnecessary. Eco-cide. @georgecmcgavin @DaveGoulson
@BritishSpiders A first for my garden, she was sitting, relaxed on top of a columbine flower. I'd hoped she might hang around until I was home, I've seen xysticus sp. sit on the same flower for days previously. Sadly she was long gone. No immediately obvious sign of moult, I was in a rush though
@pyglet54@the_beeguy@ChrisGPackham@B_Strawbridge@Buzz_dont_tweet I would urge everyone to keep an eye out and report similar bee deaths to https://t.co/ZZoS8mAEh9
This pesticide - Revystar - is likely to be being applied to tens of thousands of hectares, so if it is to blame then there must be other incidents. Pls RT
If I cleared the "weeds" from the cracks in my driveway I wouldn't get to see this stunner as I head out on my cycle to work. #givenatureahome#wildlife#NoMowSummer
I cannot overstate the boost to my mental well-being provided by sitting looking at this for 40mins each morning with coffee. Small garden, big impact. #rewild#beekind#garden @georgecmcgavin @DaveGoulson@AbingdonValeCC
@mickyg70@jamesfairwild@Stephen8Vickers Indeed, perhaps a solution is significantly less frequent consumption of mob grazed or semi wild meat, particularly cattle rather than sheep or other selective grazers.
