We warmly welcome and highly appreciate the European Union's Mission to Yemen hosting the reception for "Europe Day" in the interim capital, Aden, for the first time in more than twelve years—a step carrying important political implications and reflecting the European Union's commitment to supporting the Yemeni government and people, as well as its confidence in the path to restoring state institutions and enhancing security and stability.
We express our sincerest appreciation to His Excellency Mr. Patrick Simonnet, the European Union Ambassador to Yemen, and to the positive role played by the European Union and its partners. We also commend the attendance of Her Excellency Catherine Corm Cammon, Ambassador of the friendly Republic of France, in a clear message of support for Yemen and its stability.

The holding of this international event in Aden represents an important indicator of the ongoing improvement in conditions and the tremendous efforts exerted by the government under the leadership of the Prime Minister, minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shae'a Mohsen Al-Zindani, with the support of the Presidential Leadership Council chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, and with sincere and ongoing fraternal assistance from our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We hope that this step marks the beginning of a full return to diplomatic activity, and that the remaining embassies and international missions will follow the lead of the European Union Mission in holding their events and annual celebrations in Aden, thereby strengthening the presence of the Yemeni state and supporting efforts for stability and development.

本日、ポーランドのドナルド・トゥスク首相@donaldtuskを東京にお迎えし、首脳会談を行いました。

日本とポーランドは、自由、民主主義、人権、法の支配といった価値や原則を共有する重要なパートナーであり、近年、政治・安全保障、経済、人的交流など幅広い分野で協力を深化させています。
信頼するパートナーとして意気投合し、お互いをファーストネームで呼び合う友人となれたことを嬉しく思います。

今回、ドナルドとの会談においては、両国関係を「包括的・戦略的パートナーシップ」に引き上げ、一層強固な関係を築くことで一致しました。

また、ワーキングランチでは、来週のドナルドの誕生日を早めにお祝いした後、中国、核ミサイル問題や拉致問題を含む北朝鮮への対応を始めとするインド太平洋情勢、「自由で開かれたインド太平洋（FOIP）」の実現に向けた協力推進、ウクライナ情勢、中東情勢等について、幅広い意見交換を行い、国際情勢に関する認識を共有しました。

ポーランドには約４００社の日系企業の拠点が進出しており、同国の順調な経済成長も相まって、経済分野での二国間協力は非常に高いポテンシャルを有しています。
今回のドナルドの訪日の機会に、二国間の経済交流の一層の促進に資するものとして、社会保障協定への署名がなされたことを歓迎します。

来年は、日・ポーランド国交回復７０周年、また、多くの日本人ピアニストが入賞しているショパン・コンクール１００周年にも当たる記念すべき年であり、文化交流の重要な機会となることを期待しています。

また、ドナルドからサプライズで、ポーランドの学生の方が描かれた「連帯」のアニメ風ポスターと、ドナルドの愛読書である、ポーランドを代表する作家ボレスワフ・プルス氏の著作「ラルカ（人形）」の日本語訳をプレゼントいただきました。
ドナルドは村上春樹氏も好んで読まれるとのこと。私もこの機会にポーランド文学に親しんでみたいと思います。

今回の訪日を通じて築いたドナルドとの信頼関係を軸に、ポーランドとの戦略的な連携を更に緊密化させていきます。

Józef Poniatowski - a Polish prince and commander who, during the Napoleonic era, tied his fate to France. As the only Pole to ever become a Marshal of France, he became a symbol of the shared history and military brotherhood between the two nations.

Today, this dimension of cooperation is further strengthened by the Treaty of Nancy. Poland and France have reaffirmed their commitment to assume greater responsibility for the security of Europe and its neighborhood, including by reinforcing the European pillar of NATO.

The Treaty also provides for mutual assistance in the event of a threat, collaboration in defense industries, strategic planning, and preparation for crisis situations.
Poland and France jointly bear responsibility for the peace, security, and future of the continent.
