This government are planning to help people on benefits this winter with help with their energy bills.
How about also helping those who don’t claim benefits, work hard & still struggle to pay their extortionate bills.
Also as this government keep saying that Pensions are a benefit then ALL pensioners should be entitled as well.
It’s wrong that only people on benefits get all the help & yet workers get absolutely NOTHING.
I never understood hybrid schedules. If the job can be done remotely, why are you forcing me into the office 2-4 days a week? You’d rather pay for office space than put that money toward your employees?
If I spend £30 online at https://t.co/8qo5MVCHin I get free tracked 48 UK shipping (worth £3-£6), but conversely I spent £160 in HMV in Oxford St last night picking up various things and they wouldn't even throw in a free tote bag. Not sending the right message in my opinion.
Good morning Prime Minister @andyburnham ,
Been thinking about another idea for ya.
It’s about our kids. I honestly think we can do better for them.
The classroom ain’t changed for over 100 years, but kids have. The world has changed. Jobs have changed. Technology has changed. But we are still teaching nearly every child exactly the same way and expecting exactly the same results. Imagine a classroom where the lesson is climbing trees. And you’ve got 29 monkeys and 1 shark in the classroom. The monkeys are gonna fly up the tree and everyone claps them. But shark is gonna be sitting there thinkin he is thick and thinking he’s failed, and that he’ll never be good enough. But the shark ain’t stupid. He is just in the wrong place.
But if ya put that shark in the sea…….. not one monkey will be able to keep up with him.
That’s what I think we’re doing to thousands of kids every single day. And I now that because I was 1 of them. I was lucky enough to get a scholarship to one of the best schools in my area, and I was very very grateful for it. But I got expelled because I never fitted the system. I’m dyslexic.
From 12 years old I worked setting up market stalls before school and from 16 I was working on them full time. That was probably the best education I got. It taught me how to work hard and how to talk to people. How to buy and sell. How to get back up when things go wrong. How to graft. How to build something from nothing. I never got taut that from a textbook.
I’m not saying we stop teaching English, Maths and Science. We need them. But why ain’t we teaching kids how to open a bank account? Or how mortgages work? How to save money? How to speak with confidence? How to cook a meal? How to build something? How to change a tyre? How to deal with failure? How to spot an opportunity? How to get on with life on the daily.
My idea is to get local business owners, tradesmen, nurses, engineers, farmers and entrepreneurs go into schools. Let kids get their hands dirty. Let them find what they’re actually good at. Instead of thinking they ain’t no good because they fail an English exam. Not every kid is meant to sit behind a desk. Some are meant to build houses. Some are meant to invent things. Some are meant to run businesses that employ hundreds of people. Some are meant to fix cars. Some are meant to become the next generation of market traders. Every single one of them matter.
I honestly believe we’ve got kids leaving school today feeling like failures when really they ain’t been given the chance to shine.
Imagine what this country could become if instead of trying to make every child the same… we found what made every child special.
We’ll have happier kids. Better workers. More businesses. More jobs. A better economy and Less people feeling lost.
What do we think? Let’s change the educational system to support our kids, because they’re our future.
Bosh❤️
I genuinely believe a 4 day workweek with 5 to 6 hour days would change society for the better. People would be less stressed, spend more time with family and friends, and actually have the energy to enjoy life instead of just recovering from work. We'd probably end up healthier and happier because of it.
Andy, I love England and I love the United Kingdom. Before giving away more powers, we need to protect our borders better and stop people coming here illegally and the smuggling gangs who are causing it all. Let’s stop spending our taxpayers money on people who have entered this country illegally. And Let’s start put British families 1st. The people who work hard are strugglin to pay there bills and deserve support before anyone else. A strong country starts by looking after its own people first. 🇬🇧 Bosh❤️
@Sacha_Lord For normal person with a car that has saved 86p per week. Wtf is that going to do
We need £100's of saving per month for low down workers
Increase tax free amount to £20k
