Moira Before and After: would you walk or cycle the mile from the Village rather than take the car if Moira had this safe route? Would you be more likely to allow your kids to walk or cycle to the train if we had this? @lisburnccc

For how much longer can the world keep filling up with more and more cars? Cars that sit here all day often blocking the footpath. We NEED to get out of our cars for these shorter journeys. The bicycle is amazing, and once you get into the habit you’ll never look back!

@madbug_ni @MeekSoItIs I like cycling but definitely wouldn't be keen on cycling along that moira road after work / when it's dark. Better lighting and infrastructure needed first, which sadly not likely to happen anytime soon :(

@MeekSoItIs There are two park and ride facilities already and this is just the spillover. Yes, facilities could be better but if those who COULD cycle DID, then perhaps the problem wouldn’t be so great. Time to start shifting attitudes.

@WalshFionnuala That seems to be a common one. Is it a distance thing? A safety thing? A convenience thing? All of the above? We have a great example of someone who does their nursery drop off at Litte Rays then onto the station - child seat on the back. It might not work for everyone of course.

@darrylxxx @RobbieButlerMLA @NicholaMallon @deptinfra Better cycling and walking connectivity to the station and other arterial public transport links could even eliminate the need for a by-pass if public transport was good enough. All combination of options, with consideration for our future, need carefully considered.
