I put LotR on in Italian to see if Gandalf refers to the Balrog with the formal or informal "you" in YOU SHALL NOT PASS
it's the informal, which raises a second question: is it because he doesn't respect the Balrog or because they boyz (both maiar)
joined a book club focusing on the “1001 books to read before you die” list bc my big reading goal for this year has been to read more classics
I just went through the list, and I’ve only read 8 of them (4 of which I read this year!!!)
this was a good choice, I think
@marsman3354 bunch of different things could be happening on the right:
Cut (A-line, flared, or circle)
Drape (stiffer woven fabrics tend to have more body, meaning they don’t collapse easily)
Under-structure (petticoat, horsehair braid in hem etc)
it’s usually a combination of those things
homestuck is so good & it’s a story that’s larger than life & makes you feel like you have 40 tabs open in your brain, and the characters are so raw and flawed and believably human but it is also so fucking silly sometimes
there really is nothing like it. like how do you have a story to this scale with so many threads and fucking none of them get lost. It’s confusing & absurd and yet everything makes sense. Its a genuine masterpiece and yet I can’t recommend it without feeling fucking insane
There’s a big longing part of me that wants to watch the Fire Emblem direct tomorrow, but I’ve also been avoiding the game amap bc I don’t have a switch 2 and it makes me jelly
saying it's ableist to be anti ai like Beethoven wasn't deaf, Stevie Wonder isn't blind, & Frida Kahlo didn't start painting bcuz of being bed bound for 3 months + used a brace for her spine after that. disabled artists have always been here & your chatgpt ass can't compete
