You REDUCE crime by eliminating POVERTY. The reason so called nice neighborhoods have lower crime rates is because people’s basic needs are being met. It is not because of police, alarm systems, or neighborhood associations. Poverty creates crime.

I think BTS decision is also about their legacy. They may not want to be seen as winners of a category created around their background, but as artists who were recognized for their music on the same level as other major acts. It's not about the award itself but what it represents
