Red Dead Redemption 2 is now running on an iPhone 18 Pro.
It’s running fully on the phone with no PC and no streaming, using an experimental build of Madeira PC Emulator that translates DirectX 12 to Metal.

No PC, no streaming, fully on-device. Translating DirectX 12 to Metal with custom runtime that leverages DXMT's airconv for SM5 shader conversion. This is an experimental build of Madeira with graphical glitches.
@NurNochCube Correct! At the very least it will be possible in Madeira when the PC version releases late next year. But people may get it running before then with a PS5 emulator on iOS.
@babypluto______ I think 20 FPS is considered running. And once we have graphical accuracy it will not hurt performance much due to it being CPU-bound.
@logicLuminary Not the shader conversion, as airconv is quite mature. Our translation layer is currently incomplete, it doesn't handle everything yet. But we should be able to reach perfect rendering soon!
@lastframe_@SmeshbroMMA@videotech It's not about if you would buy a PC or console. Many people already have an iPhone, and some only have an iPhone, and they should be able to play their favorite games on it.
This shouldn't be possible.

No PC.
No cloud streaming.
Fully on-device.

It's still early, so graphical glitches are expected—but this is a huge step toward AAA Windows gaming on iPhone.
I'll keep posting Madeira updates as they happen.

Would you try this on your iPhone?
@SmeshbroMMA@videotech Possibly, but the point is to allow the game to be played on iPhones at all. In the future, it will be possible to run this game on base model iPhones at playable speeds with a controller connected. A bit later in the future, it will be possible to AirPlay to your TV at 1080p+
