Modeling large earthquakes realistically, rather than with simpler assumptions, shows far‑field tsunami amplitudes can increase by ~30%, raising hazard at distant coastlines. #Tsunami

An incredible sight in Oxford - ice skating and ice hockey on a frozen Port Meadow! ⛸️🏒❄️

The ice formed after the meadow flooded and then froze - resulting in shallow ice with no deep water underneath, unlike when rivers and lakes freeze over.
