@InGameMenu I’m not sure if this is meant for indie game creators, but with all the game development studio closures and layoffs, are there communities where affected devs are looking to join, create, or collaborate on indie projects?
@kodingnights Windows update has a setting where you can disable the auto-restart. That might help!
I can package a project over night and windows update waits for me to reset instead of completing the update(s) and shutting it all down by itself.
I hope that at least helps and good luck
@kodingnights I've never run into this on my end, but I also don't know how to program what I want in my games either - but I can see how a 30 minute ue crash would be very frustrating
I'm working on my 1st game as an indie #gamedesigner in UE5 - making a dual deck, collectible card fighting game with RPG elements called The Circuit. Players develop their characters and shed light on what they are fighting for through the game's campaign.
Gameplay loop is now golden - but still more work to do. Big question is do we open it up for #crowdfunding or continue to build out of pocket & release when we can?
@TomVsEverything For me, it's the customization elements from some other games (although none in particular)
mashed-up with the the Dead or Alive series fighting mechanics and deckbuilding elements of Slay the Spire video game series
😀
We now have a playable gameplay loop! So now how would one go about looking for a game publisher? How do you ever start that type of conversation? #IndieGameDev#indiegamedeveloper
So - after so much time, The Circuit is almost in a fully playable state... As a new dev, do I polish before revealing, or do I reveal and showcase to start promoting!? #Gamedev#IndieGameDev
For vets of the #gameindustry - what would be the best opportunities for new devs to network with other game developers and fellow creatives? Additionally, how do you determine who may be open to connecting?
