And less formally, 4) we totally should all have free housing. And free food. And free education. And free childcare. And universal healthcare. And universal basic income. The possibilities are well within our means, it’s just not within the capitalist interests.
Fun facts about the housing crisis in America: 1) there are more empty houses than unhoused people 2) it would be significantly cheaper all around to provide every person with free housing and 3) adequate housing for all persons is an international right ratified by every state

Something they never tell you about before going into politics science or international studies is how frustrating it all is. We learn about the broken systems that have been broken for centuries and upheld through every system still in place, yet there’s “nothing we can do,”
face of obvious injustice and corruption in a system that is designed to keep it that way? How do we avoid defeat by buckling under the weight and frustration of this knowledge? How do we answer all these questions? Where do we go from here?
