I suggest that if you’re interested in investing a SACD setup, don’t pour a lot of money into it. Just try a budget blue ray SACD compatible player with entry level AVR such as Sony str dh590 with DSD enabled and enjoy it.

Recently, I had a small testing about SACD vs CD sound quality. After listening to some RCA Living Stereo SACD and red-book cd layer, I feel like it is not worth to invest more to it. I also tried to compare Blue-ray High res audio but also found no significant improvement.
The major difference sound to me is how SACD processing multi channels signals. When play multichannel source, SACD may sound louder than 2 channels source. Some historical RCA LIVING RECORDS have original 3 channels and can be played on 5.1 systems
