BREAKING: Microsoft just announced several major changes to Windows 11 in an effort to win back user trust and evolve the platform into something people will actually want to use over macOS and Linux!
It's a huge announcement that addresses Windows 11's biggest problems today, tackling core fundamental issues such as unreliable system performance, UX consistency, AI bloat and general enshittification.
Microsoft has confirmed that this year, it WILL be reducing where ads and Copilot appear throughout the system, including in Start, Widgets, Notepad, Photos, and more!
File Explorer and Windows Search will be upgraded with improved performance and capabilities that make finding apps and files much faster and easier.
The OS will become lighter with less RAM and system utilization at idle, making it smoother to run on low end hardware with limited memory. These improvements will also benefit high-end PCs too.
Windows Update will be improved with more granular controls and the ability to postpone updates for longer, along with reducing how often the OS needs to restart to install an update.
Microsoft has also confirmed that it's bringing back fan favourite features such as the ability to move the Taskbar! It's also working to update more areas of the system shell with modern WinUI designs, which should make Windows 11 feel more coherent and complete.
There's much more in the announcement, and it honestly all sounds too good to be true. Microsoft really is listening to feedback, and is eager to make Windows the BEST desktop OS on the market. More details including when these changes will arrive in the link! https://t.co/Oxr6VMZIhB
Everyone keeps saying AI will replace programmers.
Honestly, it sounds very smart… till you actually ship software and live with it.
Yes, AI writes a lot of code now. I use it daily. Most teams do. That’s not the debate. The real thing people miss is that building software is not about making something work once.
The real work starts later.
Maintaining it. Changing it. Fixing things when something breaks at the worst possible time. And suddenly you’re stuck with a codebase that technically works, but nobody really understands.
That’s when you realise writing code is just 20–30% of the journey. The rest is judgment. Knowing what to build, what not to build, and when to say “this is a bad idea” even if it runs fine today.
AI is a powerful tool. No doubt.
But it doesn’t own consequences.
You still need engineers who understand the code and the business well enough to stop mistakes before they become expensive lessons.
Don't you think that we are overhyping speed and forgetting responsibility?

We’ve seen chatter about sudden traffic spikes from X after a recent app update. It started when X announced a new in-app “link experience” to keep users inside the platform.
Experts in the community have pointed out that the spike is likely because of the preloading X does on their app: which makes it look like sites are getting more visits from X, even when no one actually opened the page.
However, if you use Plausible, you don't have to worry at all:
- Plausible runs in the browser, so background preloads don’t count as visits.
- Our bot-detection system filters out any non-human or automated activity.
So your Plausible dashboard will only show real traffic from real people: no preloads, no artificial activity, no second-guessing your stats! 💪
At .NET Conf, I mentioned that there are other Visual Studio 2026 color themes available for download. Here's one I created that is true black and made specifically for OLED screens. You can check out the source code if you want to build your own. https://t.co/rPIke5jnu1
Everyone is going nuts for this cursor following eyeball effect.
I break it all down: how it's made, the code behind it and how we made it 3D with depth maps
