Respectfully, I cut my teeth on Wall Street working for Drexel Burnham-Lombert in the 80s. I spent 25 years in municipal finance. This is what I do for a living.

This is the WORST financial deal I have ever seen in my life! I have NEVER seen a deal in public finance that's negotiated on a post-tax basis in all the years I've been doing this. If you negotiated this on our behalf, shame on you.”

ROBBERY: Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins promised a “deep dive” to find waste and misuse in the city budget — which has DOUBLED in the last 5 years with 77% going to salaries and benefits. Instead, Higgins wants a HALF-A-BILLION DOLLAR credit card while we’re already drowning in debt from Marlins Park and other high interest bonds.

Salaries for Miami city employees are up 54% and benefits up 62% in the last three years and the number of city hall insiders making over $200,000 has DOUBLED in two years. While regular Miami residents — with a median household income of $66,000 — have only seen a 2-3% increase in wages per year.

And now Higgins, city manager James Reyes (salary: $475,000 and lives in Broward), Commissioner Damian Pardo and city attorney George Wysong (salary: $417,000 and doesn’t live in the city) are covering up public records that document how much taxpayer money they actually pay out to city workers. #BecauseMiami
