A salute to flydubai’s brave Indian pilot, Captain Smit Machchhar. Stabbed and wounded, yet he stood his ground. With the courage of "Arjuna" in the face of danger and the resolve of "Hanuman" when duty called, he fought back, opened the cockpit door, and gave the passengers and crew the chance to prevent disaster. He helped save 174 lives.
Tonight, from the UAE to India to Israel, people are united in gratitude, wishing Captain Machchhar a swift and full recovery.
A hero to his passengers, to aviation, and to people everywhere.
Salute, Captain.

These are questions we should be asking in Parliament right now:
- Why are Bengaluru restaurants warning they may shut due to shortages of commercial cooking gas?
- Why has Pune closed gas crematoriums after restrictions on LPG use?
- Why have watermelon prices crashed to ₹7/kg as produce meant for Ramzan markets in the Middle East floods the domestic market?
- Why are industrial input costs in Maharashtra’s manufacturing and chemical hubs up 10–25%?
The Iran war may feel distant, but economic shockwaves are already reaching India.

Mumbai’s hospitality sector is facing a serious crisis. The Hotel and Restaurant Federation has warned that the supply of commercial LPG cylinders has been severely disrupted across the city. Restaurant owners say kitchens are struggling to operate, and if the situation continues, more than half of Mumbai’s restaurants could be forced to shut down. The industry is now urging authorities to immediately restore regular LPG supply to avoid large-scale closures and job losses.

The image shown here is a real satellite view of Magarpatta City, Pune; one of the very few examples in India of a well-planned, self-contained township.
The other image is of imagined city as explained below.
This is exactly how Indian cities should be built going forward.
We should mandate that every new urban development must be a township of at least 100 acres, where everything a resident needs is inside the township — homes, schools, offices, parks, clinics, shopping, and recreation.
These townships should then be connected to each other by high-speed Metro or mass transit, so that:
•Daily life happens within the township (walking & cycling first)
•Inter-township travel happens via public transport, not private cars
Inside the township, walking and cycling must be the default, not cars.
Outside the township, Metro and buses must take over.
This single change would solve:
•Traffic congestion
•Air pollution
•Urban sprawl
•Infrastructure overload
•Quality of life
The policy is simple:
No development permission for plots smaller than 100 acres.
If a small builder wants to build, they must join a larger township consortium instead of creating disconnected, chaotic micro-projects.
This is how we create sustainable, livable, future-ready Indian cities — not by building endlessly outward, but by building planned, walkable, transit-connected urban clusters.
And yes; it’s entirely doable if the government has the will.
