New Horizon Constituency Leader Marina Van Zyl conducted oversight at the J.L. de Bruin Dam and surrounding areas.
The dam is overflowing, there is no shortage of water in this area. Yet residents face water shedding and sometimes only have access every second day.
Broken infrastructure, unmaintained pipes, and ongoing leaks mean the 6 million litre reservoir never fills and the result is dry taps in surrounding communities.
We’ve been on the ground donating water and collecting signatures, because this cannot continue. Water is a human right.
