For climate advocates across the country, the outcome of this election means that all of us must find ways to redouble our efforts and find bipartisan solutions to the climate crisis that create jobs, promote prosperity and safeguard the future of humanity.
In a moment such as this, it is important to remember that all major reform efforts, from civil rights to the climate movement, suffer dark days. And this is surely one. We can mourn a loss, but we can’t linger in despair. Our planet doesn’t have time for that. Now more than ever, this movement needs engagement and leadership from all corners of the country.
During a down moment in the struggle for civil rights, Martin Luther King, Jr. said something about overcoming days like this: “If you can’t fly, run; if you can’t run, walk; if you can’t walk, crawl; but by all means keep moving.”
We know the line to solutions is never straight or easy. But we have won major victories in tackling the climate crisis and reducing climate pollution in our country, and we will again.
My greatest source of hope comes from the courage and commitment of grassroots leaders and advocates in the U.S. and around the world who are relentlessly pushing for progress. Onward.
Over the summer I was invited to be part of a video series for the @UN that imagines a future in which we've taken #ClimateAction. Check out #TheFutureThanksYou 🌎👇 https://t.co/hnfeey7d0A
In 2017, I paid Cards Against Humanity to protect a pristine plot of border land from Trump’s racist wall. But then an even richer, more racist billionaire—Elon Musk—stole my land and dumped his shit all over it. @ElonMusk owes me $100. #ElonOwesMe100Bucks https://t.co/LIqaNTtxJF

You know you work at @Defenders when...
Coworker: There was a cockroach--
Group: Ewwww!
Coworker: I thought about trapping it to see how long it could live.
Group: Awww, poor thing! No! You didn't?!
Only animal lovers would be grossed out, but care about the wellbeing of a roach
“We are watching this species’ extinction unfold in real time on this administration’s watch. We’re asking the court to enforce the law because (NOAA) clearly isn’t up to the task,” – Jane Davenport, our senior attorney. https://t.co/2Q493z7Ggk

I'm not great at keeping X updated with my comings and goings, but here's a beautifully reflective piece from a dear friend @Fern_Arias on @dceff_org and a small part I played in the annual festival this year. https://t.co/N7aXhtsCm4
Why the heck are wolves, an endangered species, protected in some states but not others? I needed to know, so I did a helluva a lot of research and wrote about it so you can know too👇🏼👇🏼
ICYMI: Despite monumental progress from near annihilation, gray wolves still face intolerance & eradication, having yet to re-establish sustainable populations in the continental U.S.
