I mostly study ecosystems that have been altered by people hoping to use knowledge and data to move towards more sensible design. Also lots of code stuff

@jahochcam I'm sorry and sad this thread is still useful. I lost my battle completely. In my case I really just wish I had made a personal lab account and forwarded everything there. That plus doing Google takeout on all of the drive after moving all shared drives into personal one.

I've wanted to build AquaSat V2 since I started this job almost 5 years ago. I'm so grateful that USGS stepped in to fund it! We will be doing our best to make it more useful, more community-driven, and just better all around. Thanks @mishafredmeyer for helping get us here!
At long last, we just got the official news that AquaSatV2 will be funded from @USGS_Water! AquaSatV2 will have a BUNCH more variables, satellites, & flexibility for all your #limnology#hydrology#ecology needs! Keep on the lookout for updates over the next 2 years!
@watersecurity Thanks Pat! All these lectures were recorded, so at worst (which is still pretty bad) we can recreate from the videos, but not my favorite idea!
How to obliterate a collaborative course you made with your colleagues:
1) Confidently assert you have infinite google storage.
2) Create a shared DRIVE for materials
3) Spend 6 months building materials in gslides, gdocs, etc...
4) 2 years later google/csu set storage cap...
If you use google, don't be like me. Don't delete your gslides/gdocs/etc... without forwarding to another google address or downloading as pptx/docx.
I thought I had learned all my paranoid data backup lessons. Alas no.
19) Continue a slow depressing scramble, email old students asking if anyone downloaded slides, copied folder structure, etc...
This is where are at now friends. I'm so sorry to my friends who I let down with this insanity. I'm still hunting for solutions
