The Guilty at the Donmar: Russell Tovey delivers gilt-edged acting as he takes us inside an emergency call control-room, and the fraying mind of a man required to make split-second decisions https://t.co/apil8tTmi5
Tonight at 7pm, we will be dimming the lights across our theatres in memory of Penelope Keith DBE who passed away on Monday.
Dame Penelope Keith’s appearances at Delfont Mackintosh Theatres included the lead role of Judith Bliss in Noël Coward’s ‘Hay Fever’ at the Queen’s (now Sondheim) Theatre in 1983, and in 1976 she won the Olivier Award for Comedy Performance of the Year in Michael Frayn’s ‘Donkey’s Years’. However, it was her casting in ‘The Norman Conquests’ by Alan Ayckbourn at the Globe (now Gielgud) Theatre in 1974 that perhaps had the biggest impact on her career. Comedy writing duo John Esmonde and Robert Larbey caught a performance and subsequently cast Penelope – and fellow cast member Felicity Kendal – in their forthcoming BBC sitcom, The Good Life.
Felix from Punchdrunk is absolutely nailing short, techy West End thrillers – as a script The Guilty is kind of ‘prestige ITV drama’ but Russell Tovey is great, it’s only one hour long, it’s totally gripping and just way beyond most overtly commercial theatre technically
Just watched an episode of The Good Life on BBC2 shown as in tribute to Dame Penelope Keith. I laughed and shed a tear too. What an amazing cast, a wonderful script, the show is still funny. What a legacy of joy we've been left. Bless you Margo Leadbetter. Thank you Penny Keith.
🚨Trafalgar Entertainment is delighted to announce its acquisition of the London Theatre Company (LTC). The deal includes The Bridge Theatre – one of London’s most distinctive theatres – and a King’s Cross venue, Lightroom ⬇️

Dame #PenelopeKeith was a regular passenger on SWR Portsmouth Line. Whenever I was the Driver of the service she always spoke as I got into the cab at Waterloo & when when she got off at her station she would always knock the window & say: ‘thank you Driver’. A lovely lady. RIP
We're saddened to learn of the passing of Dame Penelope Keith, aged 86. A familiar face on stage and screen, Keith won a BAFTA for her iconic role in The Good Life in 1977 and another for her work in The Norman Conquests and Saving It For Albie in 1978, with a further three BAFTA nominations during her career.

Biden COOKED Trump “Tearing down the East Wing of the White House, making room for his ballroom, putting his name on the Kennedy Center, building an arch in his own honor, or even hiring his own pool guy to fix the reflecting pool. What a loser!”
Maybe Vance doesn't know this history because it's in one of the books his administration banned.
The difference between Watergate and now is that back then, Republicans actually did something about a law-breaking president. Today, they only roll over for their cult leader.
There is a record-breaking heat wave in Europe and hundreds are dying.
There is drought all across America and farmers are going out of business. Yet, Trump thinks climate change is a “hoax” and cuts funding for sustainable energy.
Insane. He is threatening the very future of our planet.
