Found this small doofus drowning in a research bucket and scooped him out. I think this is a hatchling periodical cicada! Never seen one before. Good luck with the next 17 years little friend

Our time here is largely over - but our progeny have already burrowed underground to continue the cycle. Our social media liaison will resume posting pics & clips from our glorious summer, then maybe some other bug stuff.
