@Role_Play_Chat Sometimes. If players keep popping back up then monsters might realise. For monsters that are natural predators I prefer to have the monster try to carry the downed PC away, that tends to add more drama than just forcing failed death saves.

Another problem with XP over milestones is the occasional session where you legitimately earn zero xp... It can feel a bit demotivating, speaking as a player this time. #foreverDM
