We did a thing.
@harish22890 and I spoke at @figma Config yesterday. The talk “Scooter, screen and duct-tape: from hack to habit” is our reflection through designing a lot of firsts. From designing a touchscreen dashboard to a voice assistant on a scooter, our unique world made us rethink our processes and tools from scratch.
If you missed catching it live, do check out the link. It’s an honest snapshot of how we think about experience design at Ather.
Honestly, we haven’t done a great job of sharing our design stories outside. This was our first attempt at that. What a start it was.
You’ll be seeing more of this from us. That’s a promise.

I am speaking at @figma Config 2026.
Designing software for scooters gets scrappy, fast and slightly unconventional (messy).
@harish22890 will be joining me on stage. Together we are looking forward to share a few stories from @atherenergy design diaries and hopefully some prototypes:) See you at https://t.co/ScufZo5nnj
From India, with love.
Animations and experience design for bumpy roads finder for this year’s Ather Community Day. Always fun to break out of brand language and create something different.
Some proximity expression based goodness. Only one NULL was key framed in this entire video (🤯). Maybe it’s time to learn Javascript after all 🤪
Software: After Effects
Forcing myself to make new animations every other day this March ( would have done it everyday but we all know where the real money comes from )
Animation inspiration from @yonsankm
@Manaschandran@pranavsinghania Hey Manas, the UI is different only because it’s made specifically for Rizta keeping the family theme in mind along with the design language of the scooter.
It’s been a crazy last few days here at Ather.
Last year we started working on a project to reimagine the non-touch dashboard experience for our first family scooter Ather Rizta and it’s finally out.
@willianmatiola We found that the title text is fairly readable in most outdoor conditions. The goal in general has been to ensure maximum contrast for critical information pieces while riding.
@WeekendVisuals Thanks @WeekendVisuals . It has been a lot of fun indeed. We do different levels of testing during the design process, from in-house built rigs at early stages of design to directly onto the vehicle HMI at later stages thanks to our engineering team.
The initial impression are out and the response has been amazing. All of this wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing HMI design team behind this.

A stark departure from 450X’s performance oriented sporty UI, Rizta sports a more minimal and super approachable interface ensuring the core dashboard experiences remains the same while simplifying a lot of other things.
Ather Energy is looking for a Product Designer (with 3-5 years of experience) to join us in the Digital Design team.
