One of the wildest things in the world to me will forever be that there was a period in time where a black man would walk into a convenient store and buy 40 ounces of liquor and drink it in one sitting… but probably didn’t drink 40 ounces of water in a week…
The anonymous Twitter gurus kill me… acting like it’s so easy to buy, run and sell a business… when is the last time you heard a mom/pop operation sell for any significant number? Maybe you heard of it like a folklore but no one actually knows one that sold and changed a life.
Maybe because the stadium isn’t being proposed ”in” Chinatown? Also, I haven’t heard anyone state a case for actual displacement of Chinatown. It’s not fair to imply that black capitalist are selling out simply because they support growth.
THREAD: This is horrible. As a Black Philadelphian, I am against the 76ers Arena.
I stand in solidarity with the Asian community and those living within Chinatown who shouldn't have to be displaced and/or subjected to gentrification.
Here's why.

@fortesalatifi @jmgabriel72 Probably the same reason you’d want to stay in someone else’s “room” and use someone else’s “towels” - everything is someone else’s unless it’s your own.
