I have a fixed deposit and needed a bank guarantee of ₹2,00,000 for my son's MBBS bond. The bank charged me ₹31,506 for issuing the guarantee, more than 15% of the guaranteed amount. On top of that, I also have to pay 18% GST on the charges.😳
