everyone's overpaying for attention on platforms built to hide intent, while the one platform built entirely on intent sits ignored

reddit: ~1.5 billion estimated monthly users. 80 million weekly searches. 62% of american internet users use it to research what to buy.

instagram shows you what people want you to think about their life.

tiktok shows you what an algorithm thinks will hold your gaze.

reddit shows you what people actually need because they typed it out, in detail, and asked strangers to help.

"best budget standing desk that doesn't wobble."
"switching from [competitor], what am I missing."
"is there a tool that does X without the Y bloat."

that's purchase intent in its rawest form. free. public. searchable. and most brands have never read a single thread in their own category.

the second layer is bigger: AI answers are built on reddit. when chatgpt or perplexity recommends products, reddit threads are load-bearing sources.

the conversations happening there today are the AI recommendations of the next five years.

so the choice: keep bidding on keywords against everyone else, or go be the most helpful answer in the room where your customers already are and let the machines quote you forever.
