Most men need a lifetime for their defining moment and many never have one. 35 years ago today, Clarence Thomas needed 3 minutes. I’ve watched this 1000 times and every time still feels like the first. The dishonesty, the media, and the early machinery of lawfare. He saw it all.
The bike lane fad is dying.
Installing them in places where the community didn’t ask for them was always a foolish attempt to appease a fringe group of people who have broader anti-car ideology.
The bike lanes snarl traffic. They make emergency responses harder. They make snowplowing and street sweeping harder. They appeal only to a small subset of the demographic. And worst of all, they go unused in places like Toronto and Chicago that have bad weather most of the year.
Not all bike lanes are bad but at this point all the low hanging fruit in terms of practical places for them has been picked. What’s left was passed over. So the overzealous DSAs with degrowth agendas in mind need to hunt and search for new locations. And they almost always end up choosing badly. They flew too close to the sun and the sun has melted their wings.
When USAID was dismantled, the non-profit I was doing my licensure hours with went into a panic. It was existential. I asked why we didn't just change our business model so that we did things the community was willing to pay for.
The shitlib owner reacted as though I'd recommended arrest and incarceration of repeat offenders to reduce the crime rate. Horrified and near vomiting, she wheezed out, "That's... Not... What... We ... DO..."
In her ontology, she was owed grant money. Suggesting that with her PhD, she come up with practical ideas people cared about was so low, so dirty.
One idea she ended up having was to use my disabled veteran status to secure veteran suicide grants. They did indeed submit for it, then shut off my email. Because for liberals, veterans are the negros of white people: for use only when needed to advance the cause.
In the end, her organization failed and she's under Federal investigation for forging people names in her panic to gain access to taxpayer money. In other words, her scam was totally reliant on the Federal teat. To which she felt entitled.
Her scam and hundreds of thousands of others never would have come crashing down had it not been for Trump. Which is why they hate him so badly. They call it "harm", when all they mean is he ended their tax-funded grift.
(Ontology, for any nurse practitioners reading this, means the origin of concepts and how they are organized.)
The thing this fuckhead doesn’t get is that the DST bill is already at the finish line. Don’t like the school time thing? Change the time school starts. If you try for a standard time bill, it’ll be another 20 years of government wanking before it gets done. Just do it already.
@EricLDaugh So change it to Standard Time and leave it there for Christ’s sake. Everyone hates the change and it was never necessary from the beginning.
Notice how the bus driver pulled as far to the left as possible to make space for this lane colonizer.
While the cyclopath did not yield one inch to let the bus pass.
It is great the bus kept going. Passengers should not be delayed because of one pedalphile’s idiocy,
.
@SaveStandard I understand what you are saying, but I hate the switch so much that I really don’t care which way it lands. Schools can change their hours if it does not work out for them.
@houmanhemmati@Delta@Starlink@elonmusk That is a huge exaggeration. United and Delta have limited overlap in their routes. People will select the carrier based on convenience and price, not wifi availability.
