For instance as in Matthew 18 or as seen with the situation with Apollos in Acts.

@YonahMalakhi @rightresponsem @WokePreacherTV Brother, if you tell me that Christians have an infallible way of interpreting and understanding how to apply every text of scripture to modern context and it is just to read it, then I don't think you are aware of the distinctions or how your bias influenced your reading.

@YonahMalakhi @rightresponsem @WokePreacherTV The issue isn't allowing the Scripture to speak, but instead inserting foreign ideas into the text. If we love the scriptures we should seek their meaning and modern day applications. Joel has sought to apply a text outside its context and others are seeking consistency.

I would agree that publicly taking the role of pastor/elder is prohibited which is why a platform (church) would be against the teaching of scripture. However if a woman is not to teach or "lecture" would it not necessarily follow that she cannot correct?

@ryanschatz My point was declaring that people should treat church as a family and making points related to commitment to church is hypocritical when you are currently not consistently a member involved in a church and have declared "the church I currently attend" and "sometimes I go to..."

@ryanschatz Agreed. Elders are simply a role within the body. They ultimately submit to Christ as the over-shepherd and to the congregation where the authority of the Keys dwells.

@ryanschatz Actually To raise every member to the fullness of knowledge and behavior to the image of Christ is the goal. Equipping the saints to the fullness of the stature of Christ.
However, elder qualifications would not be for everyone as not everyone is called to that role.
