Ne mislimo svi isto.
O Kosovu. O Evropi. O naciji. O protestima.
Demokratija nije odsustvo konflikta.

The European Democratic Party strongly condemns the latest statements by Serbian Interior Minister Boris Bratina, which have sparked outrage and calls for his immediate dismissal across Serbia.
At a time when students and young people are peacefully protesting, such rhetoric contributes to a dangerous climate in which police violence is legitimised rather than prevented. This comes amid growing concerns from international organisations about the use of force, intimidation of media, and pressure on civil society in Serbia.
@sandrogozi , Secretary General of the European Democratic Party, said:
“The statements of Interior Minister Boris Bratina are shocking and unacceptable. No democratic government can suggest, explicitly or implicitly, that violence against its own citizens — especially young people — is justified. This is a red line.
President Aleksandar Vučić bears full political responsibility for this dangerous drift. If these words are not immediately withdrawn, Boris Bratina must be dismissed without delay.
Serbia cannot claim to move towards Europe while tolerating rhetoric that normalises repression and intimidation. Europe stands with Serbian students, journalists and all citizens who are peacefully defending their rights.”
The European Democratic Party reiterates that respect for fundamental rights, freedom of expression and peaceful protest are essential conditions for any country aspiring to a European future.
Students & opposition leaders are rallying round respected Belgrade University Rector Djokić after police raided his offices - amid calls for Djokić to lead the opposition in national elections, likely to be called later this year 2/2
Drama in #Serbia (barely covered in UK media) after police turned a blind eye to violence (incl ag observers & media) at Sunday’s voting for 10 local councils. Domestic & international observers noted much electoral abuse and intimidation despite EU/OSCE reform efforts 1/2
What happened yesterday in Belgrade is not just unacceptable — it is dangerous. A university raided without warning. No clear legal basis. Cameras ready, humiliation staged. As Rector Vladan Đokić said, this was never about investigating a tragedy: it was about sending a message — “look what happens to those who refuse to stay silent.”
But another message broke through. While police entered one door, thousands of students arrived at another. Not organised. Not intimidated. Not silent. Because they understood what is at stake: if a university can be targeted, no citizen is safe.
Our Secretary General Sandro Gozi was clear: “A power that sends police into a university because the rector stands with students is a power that fears freedom, fears accountability and fears the truth.”
This is a turning point. Not only for Serbia — for Europe. Silence now would mean acceptance.

When a government sends police into a university, it sends a clear message: dissent is unwelcome.
In Novi Sad, students and professors protesting the dismissal of Professor Jelena Kleut were removed by force from the Faculty of Philosophy.
If Vučić believes that, while international attention is focused elsewhere he can do whatever he wants in Serbia, he is gravely mistaken.
European Democrats will continue to stand with Serbian students and citizens, and we will keep the spotlight firmly on every abuse, every intimidation, every attack on democracy.
1/ The EU notes with regret that Serbia remains without a functioning REM Council, following the resignations of several elected members citing irregularities in the election process.
