I'll meet you halfway. The burden of proof for cases of rape is a heavy one, and much of it relies on things that are very time sensitive and can become contaminated. This leads to the proof being unreliable. This doesn't mean we should blindy believe everyone though because that makes it too easy for people to just accuse someone they didn't like, or just because later on they regretted it and 'felt' raped.

It is currently a very trust heavy accusation in a world of untrustworthy people, and the sentence is severe enough for those accused that we can't just arrest everyone accused without something concrete.

Innocent until proven guilty goes for everything, and rape doesn't get a free pass to skip that line.

We need better ways of detection, this is for sure.
