@gruntdog375@ikonix360@AshleyTXBurner@salazaruse@yerafuktard@grok The government's job is whatever the Voters say it is.
It's your government's job to bring in jobs, affordable healthcare, affordable housing, and opportunities for prosperity.
Conservatives don't do any of those things.
The U.S. Supreme Court erased all doubts about the sweeping nature of its recent voting rights jurisprudence Tuesday night with a shadow docket ruling that effectively reverses the Court’s own decision in the same matter just three years ago. https://t.co/xebgKgDzyb
The NAACP is condemning the U.S. Supreme Court's latest decision allowing Alabama to use a congressional map previously found to be intentionally discriminatory against Black voters, warning that the ruling marks another dangerous step in the dismantling of voting rights in the state and across the country.
The Court's action follows its most recent decision in Louisiana v. Callais, which has triggered racial gerrymandering efforts across the South.

We wondered if the Supreme Court would uphold Alabama’s racially discriminatory map. Now we know. In dissent, Justice Sotomayor states the decision “debases the democratic process…corrodes the rule of law by rewarding Alabama’s gamesmanship & outright defiance of court orders.”
NEW: The Supreme Court's Republican appointees end civil rights redistricting protections.
The majority invoked “our colorblind Constitution” to transform the Callais decision. Sotomayor, in dissent, highlighted the "grave harms" the majority "inflicts." https://t.co/eNtS6Bq6wE
This is the closest thing to a Dred Scott era decision I've seen from the SCOTUS in my lifetime.
Even 2 Trump appointees and a Clinton appointee unanimously found intentional racial discrimination in the 2023 Alabama map, yet the majority of SCOTUS by 6-3 moved the goalposts and dramatically narrowed protections Congress enacted through the Voting Rights Act, and reaffirmed over and over, since it was originally enacted.
If there's a fix, it has to come from Congress. That's why 2026 and 2028 matter so much. Vote accordingly!

JUST IN: Benjamin Netanyahu just thanked Congress for Section 224 of the NDAA.
That should probably get your attention.
Foreign leaders don’t usually thank Congress for provisions they don’t consider important.
Section 224 creates a “United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative” focused on joint weapons development, data sharing, and deeper military coordination. (Al Jazeera)
Go read Section 224.
NBC: The Supreme Court has approved the use of Alabama’s Congressional map that eliminates a majority black district.
The Founding Fathers anticipated a president would attempt to seize power, but I doubt they anticipated an entire political party & a SCOTUS so willing to help.
‼️NEW: A federal judge in Massachusetts seemed skeptical of President Donald Trump’s executive order attacking mail-in voting, which, if allowed to stand, could have enormous consequences on the midterm elections. https://t.co/ljZ6poTORh
Justice Sonia Sotomayor accused the Supreme Court’s conservative majority of creating election chaos, undermining the democratic process, and rewarding Alabama’s defiance of court orders. More 👇
The Supreme Court’s decision is a stark reminder that progress is not assured. Efforts that undermine Black and Brown voting power strike at the heart of our democracy. In moments like this, we are called to rise, speak out, and organize for a democracy that truly represents us all.

A three-judge panel that included 2 Trump appointees found that Alabama’s congressional map was intentionally discriminatory.
Now SCOTUS has overturned that, with the conservative majority ruling the lower court judges “did not heed the presumption of legislative good faith.”
AL Rep. @AnthonyDaniels is right. SCOTUS eliminating Black-majority district in face of intentional discrimination “is a disgraceful insult to all footsoldiers of Civil Rights movement who fought, bled & died for voting rights & fair Black representation.” https://t.co/xIxEF2w2kH
A Supreme Court justice blasted their colleagues for “disregarding both democratic values and the rule of law” in a blistering dissent. https://t.co/zJa0w1QrCA
Last night’s democracy-destroying decision by SCOTUS makes one thing perfectly clear. We need a new Court. And everyone—elected officials, advocates & people who care about democracy—needs to be talking about transforming this Court into one of justice & equality. Starting today.
MYTH: A slow release of election results means it can’t be trusted.
FACT: Counting election results has always taken time and different factors can prolong the process.
If you have questions about your ballot, call your election office. They have the answers.
