@gazza_d Vid looked like police close behind the bike, but if you watch the timestamp the video has been edited and there is an 11 sec gap between the e-motorbike and the police van passing.
@WarksCyclist@Bikery1966 When I was knocked off my bike by a hit and run driver it took over a year to come to court as he did not admit guilt. So definitely keep evidence longer, you only need the two minutes either side of incident not the whole ride. I attended court in smart casual. 7 pts £850
@drokane@JimsWheels You do realise that to improve safety and minimise risk of harm it is equally as important to study near misses as it is collisions. Submit footage to the police as driver may benefit from an education course and learn to look further ahead before attempting to overtake
@WolfmansGotNard@theJeremyVine In a Nutshell - basically you are saying its ok for motorists to bully cyclists out of their way despite Jeremy having priority on the basis that they are small and slow
@Lanschier@adrenalinaddict@metpoliceuk You do realise at the time of the original offence he was already banned from driving, what we need is mandatory jail term for those caught driving whilst banned otherwise banning drivers is not enough deterrent if not punished severely
@PeterSee8 @allpartycycling @MattWestern_ There have been studies that demonstrate wearing helmets increases the risk of a collision.
Other studies have shown that helmet wearing cyclists are passed closer by drivers than non helmet wearing cyclists.
@aramando@ianwalker@SophiaGrene Also think responses influenced by more than appreciation of risk, most see smoking as recreational and driving as essential to support their work, parenting etc. so think there is an element of risk reward balance here, hence willing to accept ‘necessary’ evil
@TGonthebike @cameraoncaught No it is illegal to overtake the lead moving vehicle nearest the crossing, or nearest stationary vehicle if the crossing is in use. So in the clip the first white car breaks this law, but the close passer overtook after the crossing, so only the close pass offence committed.
@OneAdultSwim1 @HarryHamishGray Not sure pedestrians are going to use the dropped kerbs and cross via that central island - so a pointless layout - pedestrians will end up walking where they like and cyclists will be forced by the high kerbs into narrow lanes into conflict with them
@gridcustomersuk why is power level fluctuating so much in North Somerset Wrington my lights keep dumping foot a while then brightening again doing it repeatedly
@JonnyStone@longtallcyclist@JimsWheels I find on roads like that the only smooth bit of tarmac is in the middle anyway, so safer and more comfortable (and also faster)
@PoD_travelnews Unfortunately the British government has done nothing to speed your return, expect three to four hour delays on your return through UK border control
Absolutely rubbish service at Calais, over 3 hours to get through UK border due to abysmal port layout of lanes. P&O have no info, who knows if I'll get a ferry today #POCALAIS
Why does #StanstedAirport not cope with snow that was forecast. Other countries can cope, airline delay compensation should pass straight to inadequate airports
