The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another but that Allah [swt] increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah [swt] but that Allah raises his status.” - [Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2588]

Truly, charity does not decrease your wealth. The more you give, the more you will get back. Charity enhances your wealth and makes it attract barakah, sustenance and Allah [swt's] pleasure in your life.

It may be difficult to even think about giving some of your wealth in the cause of Allah [swt], because you lack sufficient possessions to provide your families basic needs.

But remember, charity is not just about giving from your wealth, but it includes, giving your time, your words, your actions, your advice, your skills, in the cause of Allah [swt]. Give, even if it's but a sincere intention, and take that step, for you will find sustenance before you.

"...And whatever you spend of good [i.e., wealth, property, resources, time, effort etc.] - it will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged." [2:272]

For the sake of Allah and our children, we must break the bond. It has become compulsory for all Muslim leaders in the Southwest Nigeria to take Da'wah very seriously. Muslim organisations and communities must begin to use every means available to promote the tenets of Islam and its morality without fear or restraint.

Put the messages on large banners and hang them on the walls of our Mosques. Most people no longer have time to sit and listen to sermons or stay focused for long. Yet, the messages have to reach them in their truest forms. When Muslims come to worship or pass by, they can read it and learn from it. Others too can and should know what Islam actually teaches. We should make that possible.

We cannot allow the mainstream media to educate Muslims. It's been designed to spread misinformation against Islam and Muslims. Sadly too, we are often quickly gaslighted whenever we ask for respect as we respect others or make the slightest effort to ask for our rights. The best way to fortify our Ummah is to ensure that the right information about Islam is received through the Mosques with every opportunity.

Our education about Islam is our greatest strength and defence. It is also their greatest fear. A well-educated Muslim is naturally feared and hated by those who hate Islam because he or she would be free from their manipulations and falsehood.

Pass this message to all Muslim that you know. Teaching, learning and knowing Islam is not a threat against anyone. It is a sacred duty for all believers in God Almighty and His Prophets Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them) to ensure that the message of God's monotheism is well entrehnced in our lives and easily accessible to others as well.

May Allah make it easy for all of us. Āmīn.
