A brilliant start to the New Year. 👏👏👏We are really pleased with this announcement from the council.
Thank you to @LewishamCouncil for keeping the LTN in Lee Green.
We are recommending that the revised Lewisham and Lee Green Low Traffic Neighbourhood is retained – with ongoing air quality and traffic monitoring as well as additional environmental measures

This is Waltham Forest, where we successfully campaigned for some of London's first new Low Traffic Neighbourhoods #LTN. It works.

In it’s ‘Plan for Motorists’ government claimed that 42.8% of PCNs in London are successfully appealed. The @FT shows the actual figure is 0.24%.

Would love to see more SuDS like this throughout Lewisham, and especially in SE12.
@damienegan@JamesJWalsh@LouiseKrupski jointly from the highways & greening funds?
ANPR and signage are pointless when some drivers are prepared to illegally cover their number plate and drive dangerously through #DulwichSquare.
#SafeStreetsNow
This is hardly a surprise by now that evidence says broadly, LTNs work (despite what some naysayers, including Rishi, say)...
More needed in Lewisham @LewishamCouncil@LouiseKrupski
Some of the driver entitlement seen today has been limitless. People blocking pavements used by kids just to access a school street. HGVs on unclassified roads not following parallel A road, all trying to rat run.
Residents really deserve better...
First, the emergency service responses:
🚑 prefer ANPR closures to the existing hard closures
🚒 are meeting response times with the LTNs in place, and are concerned by the impact of removal works
🚓 are strongly in favour of the LTNs, which reduce crime and deaths from traffic!
Fantastic news for pedestrians hearing the A20 and A205 are getting 20mph limits in large parts of Lewisham. Hope @MPSLewisham will work with @MPSRTPC to make sure they're enforced.
We’re launching 65km of new 20 mph speed limits across the capital.
The new limits will be introduced on sections of roads in the following boroughs in 2023.
🚗 Royal Borough of Greenwich
🚙 Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
🚗 Lewisham
🚙 Southwark
🚗 Wandsworth
🚙 Merton
🚗 Bromley
🚙 Lambeth
Lower speed limits play a critical role in the Mayor’s Vision Zero plan to eliminate deaths and serious injury on the transport network.

Since we lowered speeds on the @tfl roads, collisions have fallen by 25%.
So we're lowering speeds on another 65km of TfL roads across Greenwich, RBKC, Lewisham, Southwark, Wandsworth, Merton, Bromley and Lambeth.
Slow down. Save lives.
