An important project I think everyone should do:

I got a 16TB hard drive and I'm downloading as many open source models as I can

This is insurance for the future. In case they are banned

If you have them already downloaded, they can't be taken away from you

And even if they aren't banned, it will be incredible to look back in 30 years and load up Qwen 3 just to see what life was like back then

If you have a smaller hard drive, I still think this is worth doing to stay independent and free, and having intelligence whenever need it. Download any models you can get your hands on from HuggingFace

Just built a Codex skill/process for editing 16:9 talking head w/ screenshare videos in Davinci Resolve.

I tested it on two 9:21 raw clips, one talking head one screenshare that goes with it.

Here's how it went:

- First pass cutdown - 14 min
- Refine gaps/dead air - 4 min
- Visual focus pass (speaker v screen) - 3 min
- Graphics and titles - 23 min
- It forgot to use my style guide - 6 min
- Icons it added sucked - 2 min
- Timing review on graphics - 4 min
- Audio mix - 4 min

60 minutes flat while I was working on other things on my computer. Between each of these there was approval points, a note or two on some and none on others.

Thing totally fucking works. This was on rudimentary process it outlined after hacking at a previous video. With a style guide pre-built in components in Resolve (or similar, i dont know how to use Resolve at all lol) and some process/skills around specific formats this is going to be amazing.

What an exciting time. LFG.

After seeing what I, as one person with a 16 hour day, am now capable of with Astra I am unequivocally certain that the real reason behind AI fear-mongering is that they’ve realized people are no longer slaves and can build their freedom any way they please and thus no longer need to be corporate cogs to feed the consumer machine.

And that is very inconvenient for the people at the top.
