We are sad to announce the death of the craftsperson and artist Alison Erridge in Co. Clare. In the 70s, 80s and 90s she brought organisations together to resource the development of Irish craft in an extraordinary way. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam @DCCIreland@lucyerridgeart
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Peter Donovan, master silversmith and Irish Craft Hero. He was an active and avid supporter of design and craft and a regular visitor to exhibitions here at the National Design & Crafts Gallery.
We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
We visit a small harbour outside the village of Lecarrow to meet a woman who is sharing the skills she learned from master boat builder Jimmy Furey, whom she worked with before his death a few years ago on #RTENationwide Wednesday 19th Oct @RTEOne 7pm @RoscommonHour@making_ie RT
We were delighted to attend and support the launch of the new Co. Wicklow Craft Strategy this morning in Russborough House and Park Co. Wicklow. Congratulations to all involved. We wish you every success with its implementation.
An exciting day today @opwfarmleigh Gallery as we saw the opening of "Made in Ireland", an exhibition celebrating the skill and vitality of Ireland’s craft makers. We are thrilled to be showcasing the very best of Irish craftmanship.
