US military authorities demanded the town’s pubs impose a colour bar, the local landlords responded with signs that read “Black Troops Only” which pissed them off.

Okay, here’s a long(ish) thread now I’ve had a chance to calm down.
The Roma people are of Northern Indian origin. In Europe, Romas are visibly brown, which is what led to a history of persecution, that started off with 500 years of slavery and led to the Holocaust. (1/)

I was SO proud when my Dad got an MBE from Prince Charles many years ago and now he’s awarded an honorary degree from my hometown University of Lincoln @unilincoln He’s having a tough time as a carer to my Mum and this has given him a HUGE boost! #Windrush generation 👏🏽😊
