I'll create a new group, since most of you find it difficult to find a place to learn everything from the beginning, and you're all at different trading levels.

So, young guns are asking me what they should consider before quitting their day gigs to be a trader. Good luck with that one. So, here goes
-Two years household and personal spending needs in the bank and NOT part of your trading capital
-Trade real markets, not the fake ones
-Figure that the first year will be a loser. Always works that way
-Have at least three times more capital in your account than you think you might make each year in ROR (unless you are the three in 1,000 really good ones)
-Know after your first really big draw down you will face an emotional battle
-Trade futures, real futures -- it is the best bet seriously
-Have a spouse who is a neurosurgeon -- you may need the back up capital
-Learn NOT to day trade
