kinda feels like there's a parallel with AI agents here. easy to see reduced cognitive effort, harder to see how often you fix their bugs. until prod breaks and no one on the team has a mental model of the codebase

turns out no, it's the damn vacuum cleaner. all these months it's been literally making the floor dirtier. it's wet mode was literally making a paste of dust and shoveling it into the texture of the wood

also yes white floors are an antipattern. but I reckon other floor types this would just look like shading. so yeah pro tip separate dry vacuum and wet rounds

for over a year, I kept thinking "huh, guess over time the paint seeps deeper into the wood" (explaining the staining). probably lousy painting near the edges of the room

I've even gotten into the habit that if I am somewhat unsure about a question I'll screencap it during the quiz so that I can validate my approach after; seems like being able to revisit would help update more directly?

what does work is making a super basic model in blender yourself, stacking it with stand-ins via the ikea plugin and then prompting nano banana. I guess this is where google's data moat really shows

but no, even today most tools like ReRender and mnml just kind of suck - you'd be lucky if it doesn't give you an extra window or change the shape of the structure

surprised it still takes forever to a) stop a model from outputting text and b) load search results for chat searches in chatgpt, kinda annoying
