@lawrence_bury The PL wouldn’t be anywhere near as successful as it is if United, Liverpool and to a lesser extent Arsenal hadn’t agreed to a collective TV deal. United and Liverpool would make multiples more revenue by selling their tv rights separately.
@StanCollymore D2 seems the appropriate level. It will affect their revenue streams and ability to attract sponsorship, two of the main areas they have been found of misstating. The knock on effect is to limit the players they can attract.
@StanCollymore If they are expelled from the PL, they have to apply to rejoin the football pyramid. If they successfully do so, it’ll require a majority of the EFL clubs approving their application and at what level.

@colinmufc2 Fair, but in the absence of the Ratcliffe offer, it is far, far more likely. The hedge funds you cited would have had no interest in a minority holding of non voting shares that gave them a minority of seats on the board and offered very little in financial return.
@colinmufc2 They had seven EOIs with regard to taking a minority share, the remainder pertained to a majority shareholding. As none of these proceeded to the final bidding process, it’s unclear whether those EOIs would have found a minority shareholding of the non controlling shares palatabl
