Shawn Hatosy & Supriya Ganesh on Mohabbot:
“Supriya and I were told, ‘we don’t know exactly what it is, but there’s something there,’ and you could see it in the writing.”
“The more I thought about it, I thought, I do kind of see it. I think they really understand each other.”
“I wanted to be able to signal to other queer, brown women that I'm out & it's not a big deal. In my head it doesn't feel like coming out. It feels like letting people in.”
Happy Pride Month! 🌈🤍
Shawn Hatosy on working with Supriya Ganesh: “Supriya is a talented actress who cares about the right things and is always working to figure out how to make the scene jump off the page. She has a wonderful spirit, and of course I’m gonna miss her.”
Shabana Azeez:
Shabana Azeez's compelling performance as Dr. Victoria Javadi in the Emmy-winning medical drama The Pitt has been one of the standout television turns of the past two years, introducing the Adelaide-born actress to a global audience. With her haunting, deeply compelling work in psychological horror Birdeater also earning strong notices, it is clear she is all but poised for an even bigger moment. Next up is a starring turn in series The Airport Chaplain opposite Hugo Weaving.
"I really hope that I can build a career where you don’t know what to expect from me. I want to be challenged and I want to be challenging," she tells us of her future career aspirations. "My next role is a 34 year old mother of a 3 year old. Going from Javadi to her was whiplash in the best way. I hope that kind of challenge keeps coming my way."
Supriya Ganesh:
Supriya Ganesh's compelling and emotionally layered turn as Dr. Samira Mohan in the Emmy-winning medical drama The Pitt has been one of television's standout performances across two seasons. It's going to be very exciting to see what they do next.
Speaking of what comes next, Ganesh tells us they're interested in exploring different genres in th near future: "I really want to dig into an icky, weird psychological horror, or, swinging the other way entirely, a fun rom-com. Two completely different tones, but it's the art I have been watching lately. Honestly, a dream script would be something that combines the two!"
btw, this is about the pitt, not ER or anything from earlier in his career, in case anyone else was wondering like i was! he's talking about jojo coelho, sole DP on the pitt. this is NW saying he learned "pros come in all shapes and sizes" within the last two years
contextualise this with collins getting written off after her infertility storyline and given a baby offscreen and the weird allusion to mohan worrying about her eggs “dying” and you’ll understand he has no interest in those stories at all

his pain alone is simply not enough to fill 15hrs but it’s the only thing the show finds interesting about itself. for all of s1s clumsiness, it did feel like it was about a group of ER workers. this season is just about one guy and how everyone in the ER tiptoes around him.
Supriya on what Mohan wants to do instead of what she should do: "What she’s really trying to do is stay in Pittsburgh (…) there’s nothing left for her in Jersey. Her mom was her only tether there, and it is her realizing she has a few more tethers here than she does back home."
the pitt actually reminds me of my time in grad school. there are a lot of hierarchies, both explicit and implicit, and everyone’s future is dependent on the opinions a suicidal man who doesn’t treat his female colleagues with respect but demands to be recognized as a feminist.
