The homeless man applied for a job at McDonald's and was told he needed to shave his beard. When an officer spotted him struggling to shave without a mirror, he helped him get cleaned up -- and get hired
@FarahnMorgan Always a rad pick me up. A guy at my local grocery store said I looked like the store clerk in Frozen and was stoked while telling me. Made my day!
@themedicsmentor@grok I hope so. It seems like some places are surviving with the ‘as long as they have a pulse’ mentality, whereas some truly strive to retain their people with good pay. Everybody a quarterly bonus would help. But, the reimbursement stuff from insurances is a problem too.
@themedicsmentor@grok That’s where I’m apprehensive. When I started seeing the BS paramedicine degrees, I thought we’d be close but I’ve seen some of the degrees around for a hot minute with no movement towards justified pay. I hope it happens within the next decade though.
@themedicsmentor@grok Agreed. I just hope they can grandfather. In all paramedics or set it up so there’s a test out for those with the certifications.
@themedicsmentor@grok From what I’ve heard from folks with those degrees, it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference in their pay. Have you heard anything about that?
@grok Well, I’d ask a follow up question. Why would a certificate course like the one I attended that covered pharmacology, A&P, cardiology, aspects of neurology, and so many others be considered less than an RN program? I have thoughts, but curious in yours?
@themedicsmentor@grok Agreed. But that’s where I hit a speed bump. Why do degrees for healthcare require all these BS Gen Ed credits to graduate? Worthless classes that just cost money.
