EU’s @kajakallas says there’s been “some good signs” in aid access to Gaza.
But for NRC and many others, no relief has entered for 142 days. Not one truck. Not one delivery. For the few actors allowed to bring in limited supplies, the UN reports that from 19 May to 14 July, an average of just 28 trucks per day have been collected for distribution inside Gaza.
Why? Because humanitarian convoys move without security, drivers come under fire, and civilians are killed waiting for food.
This is not access.
Over 85% of aid trucks never reach their destination, their contents seized or stripped along the route by starving crowds or lost in the chaos of collapsed systems.
At militarised “distribution sites” run under the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, the outcome has been mass civilian deaths, not relief.

Do two of the world’s strongest democracies have to lower their human rights, asylum and free speech standards to enter NATO? So what is then the point of NATO - and what are we defending? https://t.co/hmPDpy4inP
During our village to village campaign for girls education people expressed their opinion that they want school and uni for their daughters. In order to stop war m, the nation should be educated. Girls and boys should be get education #PenPathGirlsEduCampaign#PenPathJowzjan
Looking forward to watching #DaughtersOfTheSun movie, since it'll be a true story of two beautiful, strong & amazing heroines that I'm privileged & proud to know.Sarab &Faiza are strongly fighting for their rights alongside the survivors all around #YazidiGenocide#YazidiSurvivors
@NRC_Egeland@UNAMAnews@NRC_Norway Well done! While others speak, @NRC_Egeland acts. I hope more & more #NGOs join you. Any #NGOs thinking that expressing "concern" or "dismay" about banning women from working in NGOs is the best they can do are signalling to the #Taliban that they can get away with such measures.
The Taliban has forced NRC, Save, Care and many others to suspend operations in #Afghanistan. Banning NGOs from employing women crosses a humanitarian red line. @NRC_Norway cannot and will not operate without our 470 female staff

BREAKING: Norwegian Refugee Council suspending all aid ops in Afghanistan after Taliban ban on women workers.
NRC boss Jan Egeland tells Newshour "reckless decision by some elderly men" that imperils millions.

Save the Children, Norwegian Refugee Council, and CARE International said that they are suspending their aid programs in Afghanistan in light of the Taliban's new prohibition of female staff, who are needed to reach people in need. https://t.co/LYejoKIrzU
“We cannot effectively reach children, women and men in desperate need in #Afghanistan without our female staff. Without women driving our response, we would not have jointly reached millions of Afghans in need since August 2021.” https://t.co/O60859bUT4
60% more women & children were repatriated this year from North East #Syria camps, which house people displaced following the collapse of ISIS, compared to 2021👏
But 7,000+ foreign kids remain trapped there at risk of attacks & violence.
📢 More has to be done to get them home
