Rest in peace to the woman behind Kiki’s Delivery Service 🕊️

Akiko Hayashi, the legendary Japanese picture-book author and illustrator, passed away at the age of 81. While anime fans may know Kiki’s Delivery Service through Studio Ghibli’s 1989 film, Hayashi was the artist behind the illustrations of the novel, giving readers one of the earliest printed images of Kiki and Jiji before the story became an anime classic.

Hayashi was best known for her warm, delicate portrayals of childhood in books like Miki’s First Errand, Good Evening Mr. Moon, Aki and the Fox, and There’s a Hippo in My Bath! Her work captured small emotions with rare tenderness: a child’s nervous first step, a quiet moment under the moon, or the courage hidden in everyday life.

Her illustrations helped shape the visual memory of generations, from picture-book readers in Japan and Korea to fans who later discovered Kiki’s story through Ghibli.

Been getting called a "shill" for trying to help someone get into DOA and that I was promoting a scam because I got an early copy. "He doesn't criticize the game hard enough" / "he gets early copies because he's a scumbag opportunist and TN/KT playing favoritism". I'm not a huge fan of the product either, but i'm still willing to help someone with information and links since they may actually like the game if they ask.

I get DOA is in a rough spot at the moment and the criticisms are 100% absolutely valid because I agree with a lot of people with how the product and series is being mistreated, but if DOA disappears tomorrow I am literally big chilling. I legit sleep well at night. I'd be more worried of another game I play dying over DOA lol. I'm not some of you who wake up in the morning miserable with DOA brain rot while you make your 90th post of how much you hate 6LR. I can literally move on and play something else (which is what I did years ago and why i'm so nonchalant about the product).

Weirdly enough, it's typically always the ones that only play DOA and nothing else. They sit there and complain about how much they hate DOA6 but yet they play it literally every. single. day. Their entire timeline is nothing but DOA6 hate and Itagaki posts of how much they miss him while dissing other fighting games that isn't DOA (rip to the man who created DOA but let him sleep in peace). Literally one trick pony players. They can't play anything else. They cannot excel at anything else.

Game needs rollback obviously, but I do find it funny that there are some asking for rollback who don't even like the game lol. Least the ones who -do- like the game having rollback makes sense. No amount of rollback will save you if you hate how that game functions currently.

Long story short, if you hate the game then stop playing it. But see you won't because you are addicted🫵. You know you can't play anything else 🫵. I can move on and you can't 🫵. you are the problem🫵. Have a good day.
