There are always a million good reasons to lose. None of them change the fact that you lost. Study the reasons to understand why, but focus on the winning.
There will be a bunch of AI businesses that come up, creating new tools, but the game is not about the tools, it's about the outcomes the tools produce - just as everything.
There's going to be a gold rush, yes, but our game is in helping people use the tools to get rich.
I think the game with AI, for services business, will not necessarily be to look at AI as a market, but to think about it as a form of leverage like Labour, Capital, Code or Media.
The trick, if you love what you do and want to do it for a long time still, is to get unreasonably good at it. Innovation tends to free up the bottom and the middle of an industry first, leaving the higher ends until much, much later.

There will always be another opportunity, the game doesn't end with your first, or second, or third no. There is time, you can learn and catch up if you want it. You're good.
Taking decisions to safeguard your mental health is not weakness, it's wisdom. The decision doesn't need to be permanent, there's nothing wrong with letting yourself grow into new information - you don't need to take it all in, and be able to act on it, at once.
When you're a new manager, it's tempting to think that you're now an IC, with extra sauce. This isn't the case.
When you transition to management, your priority shifts from the quality of your output, to the quality of your people's output.
The most difficult thing getting experience is that it takes time. You can't cram 10 years of (good) experience into 5 years, or 2 years, or 6 months. It's going to take you take you 10 years to get.
Be patient. This is a good thing.

Really interesting to note the kinds of content which the chimp lingers and and, by extension, hold interest. Seems almost obvious that it should focus on other chimps. Quite interested to see the body of work behind this.
